#177 - I Likey

Press [Talent]

02-19-08

The pursuit of conflict, self-realized character, and some real entertainment. Easily written, spoken, and bantered - if I would go to that length. Usually, not.

With some fan interest, you know your names, and just the attention I wanted for Press ESC, e.g. company; I wanted to banter a little on the topic. That’s right: Knowing when to stop. Fear not, dear and friendly readers - this is not the death knull of the comic that has survived more than a couple layout changes.

Sonata marks a signficant step in my growth as a writer. It’s hard to call myself that, as so much of what they do - my cast - stems from their own desire to act, and not my own. Nonetheless, my mentors persist on the matter, so I must.

Sonata is the first “hero” born in conflict. Aaran is my Gunslinger, aka Roland, but she is not so ruthless. She would never cut men down in so primal a fashion as he does. Her purpose is life, not an object - and that is the key.

This green haired sub-Reploid is dangerous, built to a very specific task, and that is not for once, to be the charming attention getter of the masses. Buddy’s a ham, and so is Rand. They’re different types of hams, Buddy would be Black Forest, whlist Rand - probably Honey Ham. They’re charmingly lacking in self awareness, and has mentioned, awareness in general of the world they protect.

Dusk is a girl, and thus has enough conflict. Buddy isn’t really a boy, remember, he just looks like one. Once Duet, she has undergone fundamental changes that enable her to use magic. Miva says she was built, but I get the impression that she is no longer wholly mechanical.

Sonata is indeed the closest Dr. Light has come to a Reploid, and thus her relative “class” is higher than older builds. I suppose it had to be done at some point - so, here we go. How do my robots rate in comparison to the S Class Hunters, X and Zero?

Name Type Class
Buddy Robot D
Dusk Hybrid D
Sonata Reploid B
Rand Human C
Nyrin Felynx B
Asumi Human S

For your reference.

Enjoy.
